Marcus Rashford wins two Manchester United accolades

At the end-of-season awards ceremony for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford won a coveted double. The England forward won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, which is decided by the fans, after being crowned United's Players' Player of the Year for the 2022–23 season on Monday night during a flashy ceremony. Since Ryan Giggs in 1998, Rashford is the only academy alum to receive the first honor.

Rashford became the first United player to reach 30 in a single season since Robin van Persie in 2012–13, with his goal in the 4–1 thrashing of Chelsea in the penultimate League game of the season at Old Trafford. Midway through the season, he also had a strong World Cup run with England, scoring twice in the Three Lions' 3-0 victory over Wales and once in the tournament's opening rout of Iran in Qatar.
