Over the past year, Los Blancos has been linked with a massive transfer for the French superstar, Kylian Mbappe and current rumors out of Spain claim that the club is eager to make another attempt to get Mbappe this summer. Despite this desire, Mbappe announced during Sunday night's UNFP awards ceremony, where he won Ligue 1 Player of the Year for a record fourth time, that he will remain at Paris Saint-Germain for the 2023–24 campaign.
Mbappe's current deal would run till the next campaign. He agreed to a deal with Ligue 1 side a year earlier when Madrid was once again pursuing the player. PSG has continued to rule Ligue 1 after signing the contract, but they have also struggled in the UEFA Champions League. Despite locking up Mbappe and acquiring Lionel Messi, Les Parisiens haven't advanced past the round of 16 since 2021.
