According to the newspaper 'Sport', Leo Messi and Barcelona have reached a pre-agreement on the renewal of the Argentine striker's contract. Apparently, the Argentinian has agreed to reduce his current salary by 50%. The agreement would include a five-year contract, which would mean that the captain of the Argentine team would be 39 years old.
In this way, Messi would have signed, at the age of 34, until 30 June 2026, so, if the agreement is fulfilled, Messi would be 39 years old.
Negotiations between the two sides are reportedly at an advanced stage and last-minute problems are ruled out when the Copa America winner signs his signature on the new contract.
The newspaper 'Sport' also reports the amount of the buyout clause of Leo Messi's contract, which will rise to 350 million euros.
