Messi ruled out of Metz game with injury

The Argentinian player has "signs of bone contusion" after the blow he took to his left knee against Lyon

Messi will have to work away from the rest of the squad in the coming days to be fit for the weekend's game. At the moment, PSG have announced that he will miss the midweek encounter with Metz.

The Argentine suffered a blow to his left knee in the victory over Lyon and so he has had "an MRI scan this Tuesday which has confirmed bone contusion."

Pochettino wants Messi to be fully fit for the Champions League game in a week's time against Man City at the Parc des Princes. That is why he was replaced.

The doctors will examine his knee once again in 48 hours time and the aim is for him to be ready for the matchday eight game with Montpellier in Ligue 1.
