Messi watches as PSG wins by 2-1 against Lyon at home

Lionel Messi made his home debut for Paris Saint Germain against Lyon on Sunday in the Ligue 1 match but was substituted out in the second half while the team went on to win by 2-1. Lyon had almost got their hands on a stalemate till another Argentine scored a winner at stoppage time to win at Parc des Princes.

PSG found their sixth back-to-back win when Mauro Icardi pushed in Kylian Mbappé’s centre from the left pass into the back of the net past goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. Mauricio Pochettino later half changes shifted the momentum of the match, he first withdrew Messi and brought in Achraf Hakimi, then removed Ander Herrera and inserted Georginio Wijnaldum as the team secured a maximum of 18 points and held off 9th placed Lyon with eight points.
