Mikel Arteta admits Mesut Ozil's first-team exile incapacitated him

Mikel Arteta has talked about Mesut Ozil's Arsenal exile. Asserting his decision to axe the German star has incapacitated him. Ozil, a 32-year-old midfielder, who was under contract with Arsenal until June 2021, has been the club's highest earner on £350,000-per-week.

Unfortunately, he has not played for Arteta's side this season. It is because he was being left out of the 25-man Premier League squad. The playmaker, Ozil who last played for Arsenal in March, was not a part of their Europa League squad also. This left him only eligible for Under-23 games.

But at the end of the day, the Spaniard added that he was sitting there to make decisions that in his opinion were the best for the football club. And this was what he was only supposed to do.
