Mikel Arteta hints at a new striker deal in January

Gunners have moved up the table this season drastically and have realized the lack of depth in the squad and hence would be in the market for some signing in the upcoming transfer window. Mikel Arteta has hinted that a new striker signing might be in the books soon as the squad would be depleted when the African Cup of Nations kicks off. Even Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future is uncertain at the club.

The club's senior strikers have not resigned with the team, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah will be out of contract at the end of the campaign. Gunners just have one in-form Gabriel Martinelli, contracted to stay with the team until at least 2024, and he is the only striker whose prospects appear secure. Thus Arsenal has no choice but to scout the market for more strikers.
