Monza’s Serie A survival triggers the €6m permanent transfer of Pablo Mari

Pablo Mari, a Spanish centre defender for Arsenal, is expected to leave the team permanently since Monza recently managed to stay in Serie A.  Their fight against relegation has significantly benefited from Mari's productive loan stint at Monza. Monza has completed all the steps to complete Mari's €6 million move because the team is now safe from relegation with five games left. The achievement of Mari participating in at least 50% of Monza's games this season, one of the two requirements for the transfer clause to be activated, was noted in reports from Spain in March.

The Spanish defender made 22 games for the Gunners after arriving from the Brazilian team Flamengo in 2020. Prior to moving to Monza, Mari was on loan at Udinese last season and has since made 26 appearances and impressed.
