Brazil was surprisingly defeated in a friendly against Morocco (2-1), in what was the first ever triumph of the North African team over the 'canarinhos', in a duel held in Tangier.
In the first meeting of the two teams after participating in the 2022 World Cup, Morocco maintained the 'taste' for the surprise team status and beat the Brazilians with goals from Boufal, and Sabiri, with Casemiro restoring equality in the middle.
Before this meeting, Brazil had beaten Morocco 2-0 in a friendly in 1997 ('double' by Denilson) and 3-0 (Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Bebeto), in the only official game between the two nations, in the group stage of the 1998 World Cup, which took place in France.
Brazil is going through a transition phase after the departure of Tite, with Ramon Menezes, until now responsible for the under-20s, as interim coach.
