Roberto Martínez started his journey in the national team with two defeats against Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, two results that José Mourinho ended up undervaluing.
Speaking to journalists after a conference with Cardinal José Tolentino Mendonça, in Rome, the Portuguese coach underlined that the new man at the helm of the corner team has not yet been put to the test against high-value opponents.
"To beat Liechtenstein and Luxembourg, [Roberto Martínez] doesn't need anyone's help. Then he will need it when the moment of truth comes, not now", said Mourinho.
Portugal, remember, leads Group J qualifying for Euro'2024, after victories against Luxembourg, by 0-6, and Liechtenstein, by 4-0, at the Alvalade stadium.
