Mourinho unwilling to meet Jordan Veretout’s wage demands

According to Per Sempre Calcio, Roma manager Jose Mourinho is hesitant to match Jordan Veretout's £57,000-a-week pay demands. In January, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur were connected with the French midfielder. Veretout, 28, has been a revelation since joining Roma on loan from Fiorentina in the summer of 2019 - he has already made 110 appearances for the Serie A club. Since then, he's been involved in 36 goals.

The ex-Villa midfielder's success has drawn interest from the Premier League, where he may feel he has unfinished business following a difficult period with the Midlands club. Newcastle and Tottenham were both linked with a deal for the midfielder in January, according to CalcioMercato, but nothing came of it. However, in light of recent allegations, his future is now in jeopardy.
