Newcastle United 1-1 Leeds in Premier League

Leeds’ quest for its first Premier League win is still on, as the match with Newcastle United ended in an unexpected yet exciting 1-1 draw at the St James' Park on Friday. While French forward Allan Saint-Maximin scored an equaliser for the Magpies before halftime, Brazilian midfielder Raphinha took one for Leeds on the 13th-minute assisted by Rodrigo across opponent goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

The crowd reaction was clear when the boos delivered their disappointment to the Geordies criticizing their leadership, owner Mike Ashley and manager Steve Bruce. Darlow’s return post-Covid-19 replacing Freddie Woodman was set to reinforce the Newcastle squad following 4-1 loss at Manchester City last Saturday, yet to open their wins account in the Premier League. Leeds had Mateusz Klich and Daniel James replace Diego Llorente and Jack Harrison, The second half took no sides despite Saint-Maximin’s double attempt against Meslier.
