Newcastle United close to inking a deal with Nick Pope

Newcastle United is in the final stages of negotiation with shot-stopper Nick Pope and Burnley. Eddie Howe hopes with Pope in the picture Martin Dubravka would be forced to be on his toes between the net, as the Burnley shot-stopper would offer a challenge for the No.1 spot. The England international was an essential part of Burnley’s lineup as he helped the side avoid relegation last season.

The Tyneside giants would close the move in the upcoming days as the 30-year-old is set to join Newcastle soon. Both sides have agreed on a deal between £8m to £10m range for Pope’s signature.
