Newcastle United look for a back up for Ekitike

Newcastle United keep their eyes glued to the transfer market movements as they look for an alternative striker target. Their deal with Hugo Ekitike has not been yet been confirmed. Magpies has been on the tail of the Frenchman since January but could not lure him away from Reims and close the deal even in summer. The 20-year-old is involved in negotiations with the team as he seeks more play time in the next season of the Premier League and has thus stalled the move.

Ekitike’s agents keep their eyes out for other clubs as well, since the player is on the target list of multiple teams causing more frustration for Newcastle. Thus the team is also actively looking for a backup option if Ekitike’s deal falls through.
