Neymar comments on his post-injury return in the World Cup

Neymar came back to action in the Brazil national team’s 4-1 victory over South Korea in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Round of 16. Neymar was barred from Brazil’s final two matches of the World Cup group stage because of an ankle injury that he experienced during the 2-0 victory over Serbia. After Brazil’s victory over South Korea, Neymar opened up about what it took to bounce back from his injury.

“I was very scared,” Neymar stated. “It was very difficult after getting injured as I did. I was crying the entire night. My family knows what I had to go through. But in the end, it all worked out. It was worth the effort to keep undergoing physiotherapy.”

The rigorous physiotherapy treatment for Neymar proved to be successful. He earned a start in Brazil’s World Cup round of 16 and chipped in with two goals as well.
