Neymar will be tried in Spain for corruption and fraud

After an appeal against the case was turned down, Neymar will stand trial in Spain, accused of corruption and fraud.

The Criminal Chamber of the National Court has dismissed the appeal which was filed by the Brazilian, who will have to return to Spain, but not to play football.

It relates to allegedly hiding the real cost of the deal between Santos and Barcelona, which brought him to the Camp Nou in 2013.

The player, his parents and family business partners, along with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell are among those accused of 'alleged crimes of improper fraud, contractual simulation and corruption'. The National Court now have full powers to judge Neymar and Barcelona under Spanish law after the appeal was thrown out.

Neymar is currently in Barcelona as he recovers from an injury.
