Nice beat Brest 6-0 on the final night of the French season

On the last night of the French season, Nice easily defeated Saint-Etienne by six goals to qualify for the Champions League, condemning them to relegation back to the second division.

Finals of the Champions League Before the Ligue 1 season reached its peak, Paris Saint-Germain had already secured the championship, and Monaco and Marseille had completed their qualifying for Europe's top club competition. But on the last day, there was still a chance to win a berth at the top table of the continent, and Nice, who finished fourth, stood a chance if they could withstand Lille, Strasbourg, and Lyon's assaults. Ivorian international Evann Guessand put Nice in front with his 12th Ligue 1 goal this season, with Badredine Bouanani later netting a penalty before Terem Moffi and Ali Abdi also hit the target.
