Nick Pope took part in the pre-season training with Newcastle United and appreciated the chance to work with the new goalkeeping unit and the new colleagues. The Premier League outfit has kicked off their pre-season training session in Austria and given their new recruits a chance to prove their mettle.
The former Burnley player completed a move to Newcastle for £ 10 million last month and is now the fourth goalkeeper in Eddie Howe’s squad. Pope along with Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow, and Mark Gillespie form the final quartet who would defend the goal for Magpies in the coming season. Newcastle’s first-choice goalkeeper is still Dubravka who has appeared 130 times for the side while even playing with injury in the past two seasons.
