Official: Quique Setien replaces Emery at Villarreal

Villarreal announced on Tuesday the signing of Quique Setién. The 63-year-old is the successor to Unai Emery, who left the Spanish club to guide Aston Villa.

Setien has been free on the market since 2020, when he was sacked after a short stint at Barcelona. Thus, the rumors launched by the Spanish press, which gave the 63-year-old coach as the favorite for the position, are confirmed.

Villarreal are seventh in La Liga and play in the Europa Conference League.
