OFFICIAL: Van Dijk renews at Liverpool

Liverpool have announced via their official channels that Virgil van Dijk has renewed his contract until 30th June 2025, in other words, a two year extension.

Liverpool announced the renewal of 30 year-old central defender Virgil van Dijk until 30th June 2025.

The Dutchman's previous contract was due to expire in summer 2023 so his contract has been extended by two years.

After playing at Groningen and Celtic, the Dutchman moved to the Premier League in 2016 to Southampton, a team who he played 80 competitive matches for. That allowed him to make the big step up to Liverpool.

His good performances in the Premier League caught the eye of Liverpool who signed him in 2018. Since then, he has made 130 competitive appearnaces and he has scored 13 times.
