Olivier Giroud says Lille will ‘most certainly’ be his last club

When he left AC Milan to join LAFC back in 2024, a move that also coincided with his retirement from international football, he looked to be winding down his career, far from Europe, where he had made his name.

However, ultimately unhappy with the move, Giroud returned to Europe this summer, signing a one-year deal at Lille OSC. Thus far, it has been a move that has worked out for all parties. In six Ligue 1 appearances, France’s all-time top scorer already has two goals, whilst he has also netted in Les Dogues’ Europa League campaign.

His deal with LOSC expires at the end of the season. Speaking to RMC Sport, he would not be drawn on whether his stay could be extended. “I am focused on this year, on it going well, and we’ll figure it out at the end,” said the former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Montpellier HSC forward.
