France forward Ousmane Dembélé exits Euro 2020 early after an injury rules him out. France suffered a huge blow to their chances of being the world champions after the French football federation released a statement on Monday. Dembélé took part in the Group F’s 1-1 draw between France and Hungary on Saturday when in the second half an attack left him limping off the field with a knee injury.
Ousmane Dembélé was then taken for an X-ray which revealed the extent of his injury and ruled him out for the rest of the event. France has other starters to rely on Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappé, and also has Olivier Giroud, Kingsley Coman and Wissam Ben Yedder in the squad. France would face Portugal in the last Group F match on Wednesday.
