Crystal Palace has finally pulled clear of the Premier League relegation zone with the 4-1 triumph over Watford at Vicarage Road on Wednesday. The Eagles came into the match with a six-match winless run in the league but the tide turned in their favor when Jean-Philippe Mateta’s efforts deflected off a defender and into the back of the net at the 15th minute.
Watford answered within three minutes with Moussa Sissoko’s header but Palace maintained their dominating stance despite the 1-1 draw. At 42nd minute with Conor Gallagher’s strike, they were back in the lead. Later in the second half, Watford wasted opportunities while Wilfried Zaha pushed a low shot past goalkeeper Ben Foster in the 85th minute to wrap up three points for the visitors and put them back on the winning track.
