Mathias Pogba was arrested on Wednesday by the French police, following a complaint by Paul Pogba, who claims to be the victim of "extortion attempts", advances Le Monde. The player's brother of the Juventus player is in police custody, as are three other people.
The same French newspaper cites a source close to the process assuring that Mathias Pogba "reported" to the police and that he was only later taken into custody.
The 29-year-old midfielder of Italian team Juventus, opponents of Benfica in the Champions League, filed a complaint on July 16, in Turin, for having been threatened by people he knew in an apartment, demanding payment of 13 million euros.
Pogba, the 2018 French World Champion, said he had given €100,000 to the alleged kidnappers, signing a document in which he promised to pay the large remaining amount.
