Pedri wins Golden Boy award

Pedri was unstoppable in the race to become the Golden Boy. The FC Barcelona midfielder has won the prestigious award given each year by the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport to the best football player under the age of 21. The award will be awarded at a gala event that will take place in Turin, Italy, on December 13th. Pedri had 318 points in the poll, 199 points above second-placed Jude Bellingham with 119, the biggest difference between the winner and second-place in the history of the award. Barça won another award, with Lieke Martens taking the 2021 Golden Player award.

Game after game, Pedri has developed at an extraordinary pace despite having to contend with injury issues. The canary played more minutes for Barça than any other in 2020/21 and was exceptional in all of them.
