Pedri’s efforts puts Barcelona second on the table

After almost a year, the Catalans have climbed their way back into the second spot in La Liga, it was exactly on 10th May last year when the LaLiga giants had enjoyed the same position on the table three matches before the finish of last season.

Catalans may have struggled this season but they do know how to make a comeback. A marvellous effort by Pedri helped Barcelona on Sunday as a 1-0 win over Sevilla sent Xavi Hernandez's side up on the table. Barca botched a series of opportunities against a hounded Sevilla at Camp Nou before the 19-year-old Pedri settled the challenge and gave the side a lead. Madrid edged past Celta Vigo on Saturday to quiet ideas that their Clasico bad dream might provoke a late breakdown and let Barca back into the race. A 12-point advantage leaves little hope for Barcelona for the title.
