Premier League: Chelsea missed out on the top spot

Chelsea was defeated by Everton by 1-0 on Saturday ending the 17-match unbeaten record Chelsea was supporting across all competition. Chelsea conceded its first and only goal within the 22nd minute of the match where Gylfi Sigurdsson converted a penalty as Everton shrewdly let him lead rather than their star scored Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy made the mistake of tackling the player instead of Sigurdsson and thus lost the match because of the mistake subsequently. Chelsea missed out on the top position with the loss and was facing Everton without Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, and Callum Hudson-Odoi and thus lacked creativity throughout the match.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard though says that despite the loss Blues will win this season, they have got the best squad and they have had the best season this time. But losing to Everton was a surprise as the team has reported a second win from eight matches.
