PSG is handed their first league loss by Rennes

Rennes beats Paris Saint-Germain by 2-0 on Sunday handing the league leaders their first defeat of the season. Gaetan Laborde scored in the first half surprising the leaders with a lead while PSG star Lionel Messi hit the crossbar at the 31st minute. A minute later Laborde set up midfielder Flavien Tait for the second shock of the day for PSG as Rennes climbed to a two-goal lead. PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino later shared he was outwitted by Bruno Genesio, Rennes coach but still team enjoys a six-point lead over second-placed Lens.

Messi who is still searching for his first league goal had almost got his hands on it but could not see it all the way. Later Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana set up Laborde for his sixth goal of the league. In other matches Saint-Etienne drew up with Lyon 1-1, Angers beat Metz 3-2 and Lorient 1, Clermont 1.
