PSV Eindhoven Dutch Cup, Schmidt: “Happy to reach the quarter-finals”

PSV are among them after a 2-1 victory against Telstar on Thursday evening. Head coach Roger Schmidt was happy with the result, when he spoke to the media after the game.

“It was a tough game and Telstar put in a fine performance”, said Schmidt. “We did not play well, conceded an early goal but staged a fight back and should be happy to win the game”, said Schmidt.

“We had a tough time after the winter break. Football is never a simple game but we must be ready when we play our matches. Telstar threatened from set-pieces with their tall and physically strong defenders. Fortunately we could turn things around and score two goals to reach the KNVB Beker quarter-finals.”
