Qatar defeated Japan to become Asian Champions

The Qatari national team has won the 2019 Asian Cup after overcoming Japan 3-1 in the final.

Their stellar form and performances have led to them picking up a magnificent seven victories out of seven, 19 goals scored and only one goal conceded.

With only three years to go until the World Cup, Qatar will go into the competition as the best Asian team and they thoroughly deserved it.

Qatar's performance in the final reflects their whole tournament. High pressure and intensity, miserly defending and knowing when to kill the game.

Brown' side put themselves in an excellent position after going two to the good thanks to two magnificent strikes from Almoez Ali and Abdulaziz Hatem, respectively.

Japan were able to pull a goal back, but thanks to VAR, Qatar were awarded a penalty in the dying embers of the game and Afif made no mistake from the spot.
