Qatar is the second host to fall in the group stage of a World Cup

To continue dreaming, even with a 'miracle', Qatar needed the Dutch to lose, something that did not happen, as the European side scored early (Cody Gakpo, in the sixth minute) and were never at a disadvantage.

In this way, the home team, which prepared diligently and in time for 'their' World Cup, is already out of the round of 16, so they will only 'comply with the schedule' in the third round, against the Netherlands.

In the history of the World Cups, Qatar joins the 'misfortune' of South Africa, which, in 2010, had been the first host to fall in the group stage.
