Rafael Leao, a Milan star, may depart the team during the summer transfer window, particularly if the Rossoneri are unable to obtain European football. Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claims that Jorge Mendes, Leao's agent, is putting in a lot of overtime behind the scenes to make it possible for him to leave this summer. After helping Milan end a ten-year Serie A title drought in the 2021–2022 season, Leao gained cult status at the San Siro. His on-field connection with Theo Hernandez was the backbone of Milan’s Scudetto triumph three years ago and arguably the cornerstone of the club’s resurrection these past few years.
However, this season has not gone well for either of the Milan players. Both players are at odds with their successors after long-time manager Stefano Pioli left. With the team mired in the middle of Serie A, Paulo Fonseca was fired by the Rossoneri at the end of 2024.
