Rangers get Dutch politicians in trouble as they watch Europa League win

Grapperhaus, the Dutch Justice minister and van Nieuwenhuizen were listening to the Prime Minister speak when TV cameras picked them up watching the Europa League clash Rangers-Feyenoord– leading to calls for them to resign.

“I shouldn’t have done that,” Van Nieuwenhuizen told RTL Nieuws, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, while Grapperhaus accepted responsibility for both, adding: “You shouldn’t blame the other minister – she was kind of ignited by me”.

Neither will likely have been too happy with the result after Steven Gerrard’s side picked up an impressive 1-o win to extend their impressive home run in Europe to 14 games without defeat.

It would be a surprise if either was to lose their job over the row but it’s quite funny to see such outrage over something fairly innocuous.
