Struggling Rayo Vallecano have confirmed to have sacked Michel and Cadena Cope reported they are in talks with former coach Paco Jemez.
Michel, who enjoyed two spells at Rayo as a midfielder and is considered a club great, was appointed manager in 2017 after first coaching the youth team.
However, the Vallecas-based club are now six points from safety in La Liga having lost seven consecutive matches.
Jémez is currently unemployed after failing to save Las Palmas from relegation last season and also had stints at Granada and Cruz Azul, in Mexico, since leaving Rayo in 2016.
He is widely accredited with sustaining their top flight status in three successive campaigns, before relegation on the final day of his last season.
The report in Cadena Cope claims the club will hold talks with Jémez these hours, with the coach requesting a 15-month contract and he's Rayo's first choice.
