Despite the news of the departure of Dayot Upamecano looms around RB Leipzig they still rallied to defeat Augsburg in Bundesliga fixture 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena. Between the first half itself, the players were surprised to find out that Upamecano would be moving to Bayern Munich after a five-year deal was struck with the club for €42.5 million ($51.5m) after the current season ends. The one team that could challenge Bayern in Germany took a huge blow with the departure of one of their key players.
Dani Olmo pushed in the first goal followed by Christopher Nkunku who pushed in the second and Yussuf Poulsen also netted by the time the first half ended. Augsburg failed to add to Daniel Caligiuri's penalty and force a draw.
