Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp shared Liverpool got a thrashing they deserved in the quarter-final first-leg defeat to Real Madrid by 3-1 which could very well be the end of their season in Champions League this season. Though the defeat was not that hard to accept for Klopp Sadio Mane’s referee call was harder to digest for Klopp. Mohamed Salah scored his 26th CL goal from 44 matches and gave Reds a significant jump after they had conceded two goals already to Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio in the first 45 minutes.
They conceded the first goal quite early and handed the second one on a silver platter after Trent Alexander-Arnold made a mistake. Mane did not receive a free-kick which could have boosted their chance.
