Real Madrid gives PSG the boot from Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain’s embarrassing run in the Champions League continues as they got eliminated from the Champions League knockout stages after losing to Real Madrid in a convincing fashion. Karim Benzema, 34, hit a second-half hat-trick for the side and kept Real Madrid alive in the European tournament.

PSG enjoyed a 2-0 lead against the Spanish side for the second leg of the Last 16 stage thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s 39th-minute effort but butchered the lead and their hopes to land a last-eight berth when Benzema cut through their defensive line to drill three goals and win on a 3-2 aggregate in the match with just 17 minutes of action on the field. Thibaut Courtois played his role to perfection as well denying Mbappe twice during the match to keep them from leveling the score.
