Real Madrid's Federico Valverde stole the show against RB Leipzig

Real Madrid overcame RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League maintaining their perfect record for the 2022–23 season. The German giants, who made a rousing start to the game and placed their hosts under pressure, had the Merengues work extremely hard. Thibaut Courtois had to save Real Madrid from certain dangers in the first half posed by players like Christopher Nkunku and Timo Werner. 

It took some time, but Federico Valverde's goal in the 80th minute gave Carlo Ancelotti's team the lead. In added time, substitute Marco Asensio increased the score to 2-0 to end the match. Real Madrid currently has eight victories in a row in all competitions in 2022–23 as an outcome of the result. It is the third-best season start in club history, behind only 1961–1962 (11) and 1968–1969 seasons (11).
