Real Sociedad takes down Eibar 1-0 in La Liga

Sociedad beats Eibar to strengthen their place in La Liga. Sociedad went ahead in the first half itself when Alexander Isak scored for the side and defeated their Basque Country rival Eibar by 1-0 and solidified their fifth-place standing and have almost secured their Europa League berth for next season. Isak scored in the 26th minute against the hosts at Ipurúa Stadium.

Sociedad currently enjoys a three-point lead over Real Betis who are sixth on the table and are four points in the lead over Villarreal who are seventh on the table. Sociedad has been able to secure just two wins from their last seven matches and handed Eibar their fifth back-to-back loss, and they are dead last on the table with just 23 points.
