Real's Alaba suffers a small knee sprain without ligament damage

After Real Madrid's comfortable 3-0 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol midweek, David Alaba was forced into the sidelines due to some discomfort in his left knee.

In the aftermath of the game, Carlo Ancelotti reassured Real Madrid fans about the Austrian's state.

"We don't believe Alaba's injury is serious," Ancelotti said.

Defense tests have since revealed a low-impact sprain in his left knee that does not appear to have affected any ligaments.
