Two goals from Emmanuel Ocran and a goal each from Amadu Dantani and Issah Ibrahim secured all three points for Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams to welcome King Faisal back the topflight.
It was a baptism of goals at the Dawu Park as King Faisal were left licking their woes at the hands of their host. An afternoon to remember it was for the returnees after suffering a 4-1 defeat in their opening game of the GHPL.
With no much to pick from both sides ahead of the game as they have never met in any competitive game; it was a fairly balanced game in the first half with both sides having a go at each other.
They created chances but it was Dreams that had the best of it – their efforts were either thwarted by Faisal goalie or woeful finishing. Just when spectators thought the half was ending goalless, there came a wonderful strike from Emmanuel Ocran on the stroke of half time to give the home side a goal advantage into recesses.
Dreams began the second half in a much stronger fashion as they wasted no time to score their second through Ocran and his double of the before Ibrahim Issah made it 3-0 with just 3 minutes after the second to put the game beyond the reach of Faisal.
The tempo of the game dropped after the 70th minute as the visitors were trying to limit the damage, Mohammed Lateef on the 73rd minute pulled a goal back for Faisal but it was a little bit too late for a comeback
The ‘Still Believe” boys were not done yet as substitute Amadu Dantani notch home the 4th of the day for his side to complete the welcome party for King Faisal at the Theatre of Dreams.
A bold statement from the Dawu based club; they will be trecking to Techiman to face Eleven Wonders in matchday 2 while King Faisal welcomes AshantiGold to the Baba Yara Stadium
