Finally, Legon Cities have a win on the table after they beat Bechem United 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
A first half goal from Abdul Jabila Karim was enough to secure all three points for the Royals as they thread on the redemption line after winless in their first 5 league games.
It was the home side with the early initiative as it took them just 3 minutes into the game to register their goal through a wonderfully taken free kick.
Home supports could not hide their joy after registering an early goal which at the end proved to be crucial to their campaign.
Prior to the game, Legon Cities were hoping to capitalize on Bechem’s woeful away performance by snatching all maximum points - this gave the home side the belief ahead of kick off.
The 3rd minute goal from Jabila was the only ball the hit the back of the net in the first 45 minutes, but the game was never short of drama and chances as both sides had couple of descent chances but failed to score to end the first half.
Back from recess, both sides did whatever possible to alter the shoreline, but were unable to as chances were fluffed over again over again. They two goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the entire duration of the game as they came up with some splendid saves.
