Lionel Messi, recent world champion for Argentina, said goodbye to Edson Arantes do Nascimento with a “Rest in peace, Pelé”, in a publication on social networks with photos together with the Brazilian.
In a sequence of three images, the Argentine has one holding a trophy and Pelé's arm over his shoulders, a second with a hug between them and a third with the "King" celebrating with the Brazil national team jersey.
In 15 minutes, the publication already had more than three million likes and 26,000 comments.
Pelé, born on October 23, 1940 in the city of Três Corações, in Minas Gerais, was the only footballer three times world champion, in 1958, 1962 and 1970, scored 77 goals in the 92 caps for the Brazilian national team and played for the Brazilian club Santos and by the New York Cosmos, from the United States.
