England squad is headed to meet Albania and San Marino for the 2022 World Cup qualification and they would be doing that without West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. The 22-year-old did meet up with the rest of the England squad at St George’s Park on Monday but has not trained for even a day due to illness.
The midfielder had to travel back to West Ham as Gareth Southgate rules him out of the upcoming matches and hopes it is the last chance he has to make to the squad. Along with Rice earlier Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse had been pulled out of the squad along with Emile Smith Rowe who had earned his first senior call up. Mason Mount and Luke Shaw also remain uncertain after the dental surgery and concussion respectively.
