Barcelona and Ronald Araujo have been involved in contract renewals talks for months now and have finally inked the deal. The Uruguayan would stay at Camp Nou till 2026 after he inks a four-year deal, with an improved salary of €6 million and a release clause stated at €1 billion. Araujo has been part of Barca’s squad since 2016 and became an integral part of the squad by improving the level of defensive style and efficiency in the role.
Even as a defender Araujo has scored four goals for the team making him the second-highest scoring defender in the league, after Alex Moreno. His goals even came at the most opportune moments for Barca while they were playing Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla
