SAGICOR AND DUNBEHOLDEN FC MEET THE PRESS

Dunbeholden FC Star Balla of the Week Kimoni Bailey was presented with a Sagicor Bank E-Advantage saving account in another meet and greet series between clubs and sponsors.


Bailey, who scored twice in Dunbeholden’s 3-1 triumph over Molynes United in the fifth round, was also presented with a gift basket by Terron Dewar, Sagicor’s  Marketing Manager. 

“I want to recognize Kimoni Bailey as last week’s Star Balla. In recognition of your effort, we want to present you with a Sagicor Bank E-Advantage account to encourage saving habits because we want to be in your corner,” said Dewar.


“I want to take this opportunity on behalf of Sagicor to welcome Dunbeholden FC to the Sagicor family,” he added.


“Sagicor is a proud sponsor of the Jamaica Premier League this year and this partnership will see investing on the league and in the competition to the tune of $5m,” Dewar noted.


“We are also additionally very happy to be the club sponsor of Dunbeholden FC and that will us engaging the club, the team members, and the community in series of activations in the coming weeks and months,” said Dewar.


“Health and wellness is the pillow of our business at Sagicor, so in addition to the above-mentioned partnership, we will partner in the league to provide primary health care coverage and personal accident coverage that will cover players for incidentals that happen on or off the field of play,” he noted.


“Over the past 50 years, Sagicor has been a champion of sports development in Jamaica and we intend to continue and engage our stakeholders in this regard,” he continued.


“We want to use this opportunity again to thank the JPL for putting together this competition and their stewardess in the seamless running.


“As we continue to enjoy the excitement that comes with this season’s football competition, we look forward to fair play and solid sportsmanship as you continue to entertain Jamaica in what has become a well-sort after piece of entertainment in the country,” said Dewar.


On Tuesday, Sagicor paid a visit to the Dunbeholden team in training and presented them with a number of gifts and tokens.


Meanwhile, Donovan Witter, president of the Dunbeholden FC commended Sagicor and the Jamaica Premier League. “I just want to, first of all, commend the Jamaica Premier League for its efforts for ensuring that there is football. We also want to show our appreciation to Sagicor as our team sponsor. One thing I can guarantee you as our team sponsor, we are one such club that seemingly starts slow but eventually gets faster like Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce,” Witter noted.


He continued: "We look forward to the relationship with our club and we also look forward to the community activities so that both Sagicor will benefit as our sponsor and we will benefit more from being the club being sponsored”.


“The partnership so far seems very fruitful and we are intending to be at the top at the end of the season. So I really look forward to the partnership and all that is there to be benefited from both sides,” said Witter. Professional Football Jamaica Limited’s director, Clyde Jureidini, was on hand to welcome Sagicor Life as a sponsor.


“Welcome to Sagicor for joining the partners in our sponsorship bracket to come on stream not just in sport but the time when the Olympics is premium to come on board with the Jamaica Premier League 2021 season,” Jureidini pointed out.


“We look forward to having you not just with Dunbeholden but with the football fraternity through the Professional Football Jamaica Limited and will partner with us for a long time,” he added.


“We know you have been involved some time before and hopefully this relationship will grow from strength to strength,” said Jureidini, who is general manager of Harbour View FC.
