Sampdoria beats Genoa 3-1

Manolo Gabbiadini’s double and Francesco Caputo’s tap-in-handed Sampdoria the much-needed three points in the Derby della Lanterna against Genoa on Friday night. The hosts did see Mattia Destro battle alone by pulling one back for the side but could not save the side from losing the match.

Sampdoria set themselves up for a win from the first half itself with Gabbiadini opening goal in just eight minutes and Genoa was visibly struggling in the first half but later they seemed more determined but could not break through Sampdoria’s defense to test Emil Audero in the Blucerchiati goal.
