Suat Serdar scored the lone goal of the match between last-placed Schalke and Augsburg to record a 1-0 win for the relegation-threatened team in Bundesliga on Sunday. This was the second win Schalke has recorded so far in the season and is likely to be relegated this season. Augsburg's Rafal Gikiewicz gift wrapped the goal for Schalke after he dropped a cross from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in Serdar's direction.
The midfielder pushed past Gikiewicz for his first league goal since Jan 2020 while Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann worked hard to save the team from conceding any goals with great work defending the post. Schalke’s last win was against Hoffenheim in January when the team defeated the other with a 4-0 score under then-coach Christian Gross. Augsburg on the other hand remains 11th on the table.
