Second draw in a row for Napoli

For Napoli, which had started the season with two convincing victories, it was their second consecutive tie. After Tanguy Ndombele fouled Federico Di Francesco in the 25th minute, Lecce, the Serie B champions, nearly unexpectedly seized the lead. Colombo converted the penalty kick, but it had to be retaken since the referee hadn't yet blown his whistle. Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret made the save on the second try. Elif Elmas scored the first goal for Napoli immediately after, but Colombo levelled the game for Lecce six minutes later with a rocket from more than 20 yards out into the top right corner.

After the draw, Lecce moved up to 15th place after earning their second point of the season, leaving Luciano Spalletti's team in third place, two points behind Roma and one behind Inter Milan for second place.
