Serie A: De Rossi got 200th as Roma captain

The veteran midfielder was in the starting XI and made his 200th competitive appearance as his beloved hometown club’s captain.

It was a quite strange and tough match for the captain against fellow Frosinone in which Edin Dzeko just needed a last-gasp bundle over the line to give Roma this 3-2 victory away, but Kostas Manolas was stretchered off.

De Rossi managed the game emotionally quite well anyway. His first game has been during a UEFA Cup match against Middlesbrough on March 15, 2006, when Francesco Totti was out injured.

This was the 35-year-old’s 610th official game in the Roma jersey, during which he has scored 61 goals and contributed 54 assists.

He was also sent off on 12 occasions for his club, with 147 yellow cards.
